Good Bye Salem!

Today Scott and I completely cleaned out the camper at Kieslers. We've been seasonals there since 2003 (7 years) and completely love that place. But a great family will be using it next summer, so we had to clear everything out. We fit everything we had in that camper in our mini-van (thanks to Scott's excellent packing abilities). We hauled it all home and put it in the garage. Once we get the RV, we'll load it all in there! Another step ... done!

How much time can one spend searching for an RV?

At the beginning of this adventure, I thought we would rent an RV for the journey. However, after discovering it would cost nearly $20,000 for the twelve-week adventure, we turned our minds to buying and selling (hopefully quickly)

I've spent hours, and I mean hours, looking at websites and traveling to RV lots looking at what would be best for our family. I began with thinking a Class C would work best, but this is a once-in-a-lifetime trip and we want the views to be perfect for all of us (in a Class C only the driver and passenger get a full view of the road). Therefore we have decided upon a Class A.

In looking at Class A's we've asked ourselves ... gas or diesel? bunks or not? how many slide outs? The questions goes on and on and on ... not to mention the pure anxiety of buying a RV that has an engine associated with it! That is what freaks us out! We have heard horror stories about break-downs and we don't want to spend our trip at a fix-it shop!

So the hunt continues ...
