Thanksgiving in Boston

I spent the week of Thanksgiving 2019 in Boston with my friend Mary. The job I started in October allows me to work from my home and this was my first trip where I tested out that benefit. It was great! I cannot wait to see how this opportunity will open up more traveling for me in 2020.

Mary has been in my blogs before. We went to high school together and reconnected through Facebook 30 years later. It was a lovely week. We went on walks in her neighborhood, out for dinner and drinks, and spent a night out at a Cambridge bar, Toad, where the music was good and the company enjoyable.

We visited the Harvard Museum of Natural History where they have a collection of Blaschka glass models of plants, the “Glass Flowers." I'm not kidding, these things are amazing! I kept saying "these aren't glass...these cannot be glass!" They were beautiful.

I also went out for dinner with my friend Marsy  who lives in the Boston area. I met Marsy while at Squam, a knitting camp, in 2013. No photo, but great company.

We also went out to see a show at Emerson Paramount Center.

The best part of the week was spending Thanksgiving with Mary and her friends. Mary made a full Thanksgiving meal for the two of us and we hosted friends later that evening for dessert and drinks. It was a perfect day.

It was a simple, but wonderful week. It am grateful for all the people in my life both near and far. If anyone lives in a warmer climate and is looking for some company this winter, hit me up!
