I Got COVID

Over the last two (2) years every post I’ve written on this blog has mentioned COVID. I feel it is important to document…after dodging that damn thing for two years, I got COVID.

After an extremely fun and mask free New Years Celebration with vaccinated friends, per CDC guidelines, I took a COVID test. It was positive. It was my 16th test and my first positive. I had no symptoms other than an ugly cold sore.

I admit I was in shock. I’m not sure why, because I’ve been taking risks. But I was still shocked. I found it an interesting emotional ride. It was an exhausting 24 hours sharing with my community and trying to figure out next steps and understand the differences between tests, etc. But outside of the emotions and tons of texts and calls I would say it was a piece of cake.

I’m confident it was easy because I was vaccinated, boosted, and generally healthy for a 53 year old woman. I’m celebrating science and my ability to get a vaccine and booster! Suck that COVID!!!

Get vaccinated. Get boosted. Share your results with the State if doing home tests. Share with your contacts so they can test. Mask up. Be gentle on one another.

I still hate COVID.

Proof of the fun that was had below…
