Day eleven (Sunday, April 3) started, once again, from a Walmart parking lot. We hit the road at a record breaking 7:22am. Our number one goal for the day was to take our picture in front of an Iowa state sign. We had attempted a couple times coming down, but had no luck finding a sign. We stopped at a couple rest areas, but there was never any sign indicating it was located in Iowa (maybe they don't want you to know where you are?). Weird. So we gave up and compromised ... we spelled out IOWA with our body parts in front of an Iowa sign at a Iowa rest stop!
This will be my last blog entry as we are 'getting back to reality' this afternoon. We just left Albert Lea, where we filled our propane tank and emptied our dirty tanks. We have about two hours until we get home. Tonight we have tickets to see Stomp at the Ordway, so we will return the RV Monday night.
I'll be honest in saying I'm kinda sad to see our trip come to an end. It was fun. We had a great time exploring the 'middle of America'. We would love to do it again. Thanks for following us during our adventure.
Final statistics: 3,471 miles, $1,631.25 spent on gas, $99.91 on souvenirs and $550.55 on tourist traps. We visited nine states, had no fights* and only one injury.
* I don't want to imply we didn't have any spats along the way, but overall it was very peaceful. The girls did very well driving the 3,471 miles.
What a FUN trip! I finally got to sit down and read your travel adventure blog. This is very inspirational to get out and do some more exploring of our great states. Glad you had such a great time!
