Day Two: Good Flight, Wet Bag, Lovely Friends

Day two of Europe started with an overnight flight to London. I sat next to a man that thought his ticket included half of my seat as well, but overall the flight was uneventful.

We landed at Heathrow to discover my bag was all wet. I panicked a bit. In fact I didn't even want to open it until we landed at Renata's. Check out the lovely sign Renata painted for us...oh I so hope that thing makes it all the way back to the states in one piece!

Renata's son, Ollie, picked us up and we drove two hours to Poole. The three of us slept a bit, but our goal was to make it until 8:00pm. The first thing we did was wash my bag. It must have been someone else's bag that leaked on mine because nothing much inside was wet. Thank goodness. I wouldn't want to know what their bag looked like.

We spent the entire afternoon visiting with Renata, her son's Ollie and Dan, and Ollie's girlfriend Alex. It was lovely despite my eyes feeling as if I needed toothpicks to keep them open.

Although the conversation was lovely and we shared many laughs, the three of us were in bed by 8:30pm. I could barely get the converter set up for charging our phones before I passed out. It was a wonderful first day in the UK.
